The Mevlevi Sema Ceremony : The Mevlevi Sema Ceremony is known worldwide for its whirling dances and dervishes , featuring a complex musical repertoire called " ayin " .

The ceremony represents the mystical journey of man's spritual ascent through mind and love to perfection. It is one of the most important richness and heritage of Turkish Culture as a tradition of 800 years old. This unique traditional ritual is proclaimed as Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2005.

Complimentary beverages and Turkish Delight service is available before the performance.

The program starts with a 15 minute classical Turkish music concert performed by a traditional orchestra. Following this the ceremony starts and lasts about 45 minutes under the amazing lighting and mystical atmosphere of Hodjapasha.

The performance takes place at the Hodjapasa Culture Center. The Culture Center, converted in 2008 from a 550 year old Turkish Bath, is located at the center of historical Istanbul.

The original building was built by Hoca Sinan Pasa who was a teacher and later vizier to Fatih Sultan Mehmet during 1470's. It was designed as a double bath, for both men and women and was considered as a big bath with a high dome, made of cut stone and in part designed to resemble a peacock tail.

The Hodjapasa Culture is located in the Sirkeci area of Sultanahment. It is close to the Sirkeci station which serves the local metro, the Marmaray rail line and main train line (historically the terminal station of the Orient Express). It is a short walk from the main tourist areas in Sultanahmet.
